Workflow Immediate Action & Time-Dependent Workflow Action

Both Workflow Immediate Action and Time-Dependent Workflow Action are important components of workflow in Salesforce, but they function in two different ways. The difference between these two is mainly in their timing and use context.

An Immediate Action is a task that is executed immediately upon meeting the criteria of a workflow rule.

A Time-Dependent Workflow Action is a task that is executed after a specified time interval after the conditions of a workflow rule are met.

An Immediate Action is triggered immediately when the workflow criteria are met. A Time-Dependent Workflow Action is triggered at a specified time after the workflow criteria are met.
