  • Mobile network architecture is a complex system that connects various components and technologies to operate wireless communication. 
  • This architecture provides users with access to voice calls, text messaging, internet browsing, video streaming, and other types of multimedia services. 
  • It includes many components and layers, each of which has a specific function.
Key components of mobile network architecture:

User Equipment (UE): This is the device that the user uses for communication, such as a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop. User equipment includes a SIM card and a radio module, which help in connecting to the network.

  • Access Network: This network acts as an interface between the user and the core network. It includes a base station or cell tower, which receives signals from the user's device and forwards them to the core network.
  • 2G/3G/4G/5G Technologies: Over time, mobile network architecture has undergone technological development. 5G technology has opened up new possibilities for data speed, connectivity, and multimedia use.
  • Core Network: The core network is the backbone of the entire network. It manages calls, data, and multimedia services.
 It includes the following:

  • Switching Center: Routes voice calls and messages.
  • Packet Core Network: Handles data services.
  • Home Subscriber Server (HSS): Authenticates and authorizes the user.
  • Transport Network: This transports data from the access network to the core network and then to other networks. This network mainly depends on fiber optic cables and IP-based protocols.
  • Multimedia Service Platform: In modern mobile networks, special platforms have been created for multimedia services. For example, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is used to efficiently operate services like video streaming, online gaming, and VoIP.
