Network Security:


Network Security is a critical concept aimed at protecting a network, its devices, data, and communication. Its primary function is to ensure that unauthorized individuals or devices cannot access the network, and that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information on the network are maintained.

Key Components of Network Security:
  • Confidentiality: Ensures that information is accessible only to authorized individuals. Encryption is used for this.
  • Integrity: Ensures that data is not altered or tampered with. Hashing techniques are used for this.
  • Availability: Ensures that network services are available to authorized users when needed. Firewalls and other measures protect against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.

Types of Network Security Measures:
Firewall, Encryption, Antivirus and Antimalware Software, Access Control, and VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Challenges in Network Security:
The biggest challenge is that the types and scale of cyber attacks are constantly changing. Key challenges include new forms of cyber attacks, wireless network security vulnerabilities, risks from the Internet of Things (IoT), and insider threats.
